Original era manufacture. A popular Japanese made souvenir of soldiers, sailors and marines who visited the far east back in the late 19th and early days of the 20th century. We believe this example dates to around the time of the Boxer Rebellion in China. It measures 16x17 inches and resides in it's original wooden frame. Colorful embroidered flags and an elaborate eagle provide the decoration, with a B/W image of a saluting US Marine at center. No issues with fraying or tearing to the fabric, however the frame needs to be re-nailed at the corners.
