Q. Will you ship to countries other than the United States?
A. The answer is yes, certainly. However, the items you order must be legal for you to own in your country and the responsibility for that knowledge is entirely up to the buyer.
Q. When will I receive my order?
A. You will likely have noticed the comment when you finish your purchase on our website "Please allow 4 weeks for delivery". Wow, that's a long time isn't it? The fact is you generally will get your order much quicker, in fact, sometimes we can ship the same day as your order is received. The reason for the 4 week statement is that we travel to find the items we offer here. Since we do not have a 1-800-Send-us-stuff number we use to resupply our inventory we have to resort to other means. That often requires us to be on the road for up to several weeks at a time looking for new goodies to place on the site. We appreciate your patience and understanding in this matter and we would like you to also know that we never charge your credit card or cash your check until your item is in the box ready to go out to you.
Q. Can I get a refund on a returned layaway item?
A. Everyone has a 5 day inspection period to return an item for a refund. On a layaway, the return is good for store credit only as this item has been out of circulation while you had it on layaway.
The store credit will be good for a period of 30 days. After that time it will expire.
You are responsible for shipping both ways and the return must be in the same condition as when we shipped it out to you.
Q. Do you issue refunds on purchases?
A. You have a 5 day inspection period. During that time you may request a full cash refund for your purchase price during that period. You are responsible for the shipping both ways. The returned items must be in the same condition as when they were shipped out to you.
We DO NOT refund on any photo albums.
Q. Do you offer a layaway plan?
A. Yes, it is 1/3 now and the balance due in 30 days or less. The or less is up to you.
The minimum layaway is $100.
Q. Will you ship overseas without insurance?
A. No, all packages are fully insured. We have had packages never reach their destination. With insurance you can at least be reimbursed for the cost of the item plus the shipping after the post office conducts an investigation.
Q. Are import duties, taxes and charges included in the item price or shipping charges.
A. No, import duties, taxes and charges are not included. These charges are the buyer's responsibility.
Please check with your local customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to purchasing.
Q. Will you mark an International order below value and as a gift?
A. We do not mark merchandise values below value or mark items as gifts - US and International government reglations prohibit such behavior.
Q. Will you charge a restocking fee on returns? What is the policy on layaway returns?
A. Due to expenses incurred on returned items we will charge a 2% restocking fee. On Layaway items we will issue store credit only. This credit will not include the shipping fees and the restocking fee will be deducted.
Q. If I have a question on an item will my asking it hold the item for me while I wait for the answer?
A. No, asking a question is not the same as saying you would like to purchase the item. The first person to say I will take that item and will pay for it is the one the item will be sold to.
Q. May I return a uniform or piece of headgear if it doesn't fit me or my display mannequin?
A. No. We sell historical artifacts, not clothing or hats off the rack for wear. Having said that, we understand that many collectors wish to place uniforms or headgear on forms or mannequins for display. That is why we try and give a general idea as to size. If an error is made while measuring your headform or mannequin, it will be your job to find one which fits.
Q. Do you issue certificates of authenticity?
A. No, we do not. Any one, can write anything on a piece of paper and sign it. Our receipt to you is our guarantee, keep it, don't lose it.
Q. Can I use a credit card for my purchase as a new customer?
A. Due to the increase in fraudulent credit card transactions, any new customer ordering more than $400 may not use a credit card for payment until they become an established customer.
