Original era manufacture. A nicely executed example of a GI modified Garand, or M1905/42 bayonet converted into a fighting knife.The blade measures 7 inches in length, with all markings removed from the ricasso. The guard has also been modified by the removal of the muzzle ring, and elimination of the lock mechanism.Black plastic grips, and I believe the interior has been filled with lead, as the knife is heavier than a normal M1 bayonet.Sound brown leather sheath of riveted and sewn construction. Normal age and wear.
