US WWI Era 1903 Springfield Rifle Scabbard

Original era manufacture. All leather construction, with its original hanging straps with metal fittings. The body is not crushed or flattened, and while not US marked, clear markings of WHWMgMco can be seen on one side of the throat opening. What occurred to me while typing this description is that might be an old MGM studio prop house marking. This is certainly an original scabbard, but perhaps obtained by the film company as surplus. If so, who knows what classic film this old scabbard starred in. While looking over this scabbard in detail, I did notice an Army inspector's initials of W.K.G. on one side.
