Item #65527 : Original era manufacture. A late pattern 1868 Bavarian private purchase Raupenhelm, made with the two brass ventilators on each side of the comb. Formed leather body, with a removable lambswool comb and a gothic script L on a starburst plate on the front. Bound brass leather visor, brass lion head boss on each side which hold the brass linked scale adjustable chinstrap in place. Above the left side lion boss is a blue and white cockade, with a sunburst like background. Complete original black leather chinstrap with an officers style liner.
