German WWI-WWII Soldier Document Lot, WWI Dogtag-MG Comp. WWII POW Camp Pike Arkansas
Item #65897 : Original era manufacture. A terrific grouping of 15 assorted documents pertaining to the military career of Gefr. Erwin Pister who served in WWI as a Machine Gunner, and during WWII, was captured and sent to a POW Camp in Arkansas. Born in 1898, he served with the Bavarian 18th Infantry Rgt, 3rd MGK and was awarded the Iron Cross 2nd Class. I haven't been able to identify his WWII service unit but further digging through his grouping should bear fruit. The lot includes his WWI dogtag, WWI Soldbuch, WWI Militarpass, WWI marksmanship book, WWII Wehrpass with photo, document for the Iron Cross 2nd Class in 1919, document for his Hindenburg Cross in 1934, list of personal effects from missing soldier Pister dated 17 July 1944, letter from his company commander to his Pister's family providing details of his loss 9 August 1944 date, POW card to his family mailed from Camp Joseph T. Robinson (Camp Pike Arkansas) April 4 1945, two postwar documents from the German government thanking him for his long service in civilian life.
