German WWII, GI Modified Eickhorn NSKK Enlisted Dagger

Trench Art
German WWII, GI Modified Eickhorn NSKK Enlisted Dagger

Item #47559 : Original era manufacture. A well done, GI (I think) modified NSKK enlisted dagger by Eickhorn. The blade has been slightly shortened, displaying evidence of old cleaned corrosion to its surface; Eickhorn trademark on the reverse.Everything above the base of the blade has been replaced; the classic up-swept lower guard is gone, now with a machined brass oval which fits up against the scabbard throat quite nicely. The grip shows a high degree of talent in its manufacture, with a nicely tapered form and a machined brass pommel cap. The grip itself has a grain to it; perhaps bone, or, some other naturally occurring substance.  Early production scabbard with nickel fittings, and traces of the black painted finish remaining. All scabbard screws are present.

Price: $265.00
