Item #62756 : Original era manufacture. US Vietnam War MIA-POW bracelet for Co. Vernon Ligon Jr. 11-19-67. This officer had a remarkable military career, twice being shot-down and held as a Prisoner of War. The first instance occurred in 1944 in the skies over Belgium when his P-47 fighter was hit by German ground fire, resulting in his capture by the Germans. The second was in 1967 over Hanoi when his aircraft was hit by a SAM missle, resulting in Colonel Ligon being incarcerated in the "Hanoi Hilton" for the next five years. Normal age and wear.
