US WWI Army Issue Khaki Enlisted Breeches & Cloth Belt, 1917 Dated
Item #63147 : Original era manufacture. Issue quality khaki cotton enlisted breeches, 34 inch waist, with a 26 inch inseam. There are two original tags present, one on the waistband from the Philadelphia QM Depot, and another on the inside of a pocket lining, from the maker Hamilton Carhartt Cotton Mills dated 1917. In addition there are two WWII era owners inkstamps on the waistband, F-8452, being the first letter of his last name and the last four digits of his service number. Apparently he was issued these breeches, stamped them and then never wore them, as the condition of the tags is near new; they have never been laundered. They have however been used in a display as the leg stitching has been opened up just above the lacing in order to fit them over the legs of a mannikin. Includes an original WWI issue waistbelt with a 1904 patent date.
