US WWII M3 Knife & M6 Scabbard, Milsco 1943
Item #55962 : Original era manufacture. A clean example which a friend of ours sold us at the recent Mesa Arizona Military Show. Standard WWII M3 knife with a blue finish, however, all of the markings have been removed, to include the maker and date on the blade. Now this was not a crude-garage type removal, the metal was expertly ground down and then refinished. A possible explanation being that the US property markings were removed by the soldier who "liberated" the knife, or the surplus retailer who didn't want any troubles with Uncle Sam. Clean stacked leather grip with no missing or crached segments. Very clean M6 pattern sheath made by MILSCO and dated 1943. The leather remains pliable with no issues with the stitching. The only issue is the top of the female side of the pommel strap catch is missing.
