German WWII Feldpost Letter Lot, 50 Pieces, Same Soldier, Field Police, 1939-1945
Item #65338 : Original era letters. This is a very interesting collection of 50 handwritten letters and postcards mailed during the time period of December 1939 to February 1945. All of the letters and postcards were written by the same soldier to the same recipient, a female, who during the years of correspondence changed her last name to his. There are two Feldpost numbers which appear on most of the envelopes, 13310 in the early mailings, and 39645 in the later envelopes. A third number, 02904 appears briefly in 1944. Feldpost number 13310 was assigned to Grenschutz-Feldgendarmerie Trupp 317 until January 1940, when it was changed to Grenschutz-Feldgendarmerie Trupp 150 in September of that year. Feldpost number 02904 Feldgendarmerie-Trupp 35, and 39645 Feldgendarmerie-Trupp 308, then 423 and back to 308 in 1942. All of the envelopes contain a handwritten letter in Sutterlin script, with each postcard displaying a note on the reverse. All of the envelopes are Feldpost canceled, most with an eagle and swastika stamp.
