Item #64506 : Original era manufacture. Of a pattern introduced during the Civil War, later, postwar becoming the Infantry officer's sidearm in the 1870's. The polished steel blade has a central edge on each side running the entire length. Etched designs on both sides, with a Pasquale Co, retailer name on the ricasso. The blade runs fairly straight and true, with a very slight drift to the right about four inches back from the point. Scattered areas of staining and light corrosion pitting, no nicks in the cutting edge. Gilded brass guard which folds up on one side, dark fish skin grip bound with a single strand of twisted brass wire. Plated steel scabbard which is dent free, brass fittings, missing the throat collar.
