Original era manufacture. Unusual Maker. Bright finished blade with an unsharpened edge and a sharp point. Maker marked on the ricasso of the scabbard, Haenel-Suhl, spine date of 16 with a crown W proof. Cleaned steel patina finish to the guard and pommel. The flash guard shows some typical light denting and the wood grips are marred a bit from service use, nothing terrible. The blue steel scabbard shows most of its finish remaining with a few scattered spots of very shallow denting and maker marked by Mauser below the throat. The scabbard and blade were married together at some point in the past, however the blade fits well and draws easily.
