Original era manufacture. A very fine example with excellent detail to the pebbled surface and fair amount of feldgrau paint remaining in the recesses. Near 100% finish remains on the reverse of the buckle. Original sewn 1937 dated leather tab which is maker marked by Deumer. In addition, the GI who souvenired the buckle used his personal equipment stamp to mark this buckle as his property. The first letter of his last name K and the last four digits of his service number 9849 can be clearly seen. A great buckle with an interesting history.
