Original period manufacture. Curved steel blade measuring 31 inches point to guard, with a swell in the blade towards the tip, with a top false edge extending 8.5 inches from the point. The blade presents a steel patina finish, displaying an even peppering of cleaned surface corrosion, with carved metal decoration on both sides. Simple steel crossguard displaying a dark steel patina, with plain leather covered wood grips showing wear and use. The sword is sound, rather blade heavy, with nicks in the cutting edge. Undetermined age, may well date earlier than the 19th century.
