Original era manufacture. All steel construction Indo-Persian Pulwar, or Talwar sword, brought home by a friend of ours from Afghanistan. Polished steel, dramatically curved blade measures 27 inches in length tip to guard, with a very sharp cutting edge. The surface of the blade displays patches of surface corrosion and pitting, with a very hand wrought appearance. Nicely tooled steel guard, grip and pommel cap, with a skull crusher projection on the top of the pommel. The black leather covered wooden bodied scabbard is in poor condition, with a steel chape. Missing the top portion of the scabbard. Care must be taken when inserting, or drawing the blade as you can easily cut your hand in the process if not careful. Definitely not one of the tourist trade swords, this one has some age to it.
