Item #68035 : Original period manufacture. 20x19 inch printed silk flag in sound condition. No holes or tears just some minor age staining and fold marks. The design is interesting as the canton is formed similar to the Civil War era 34 star example. As the story goes, the makers of flags gambled that the Dakota Territory was to be admitted into the Union as one state, however it was divided and entered as North and South Dakota.
