Original era manufacture. Heavy, combat weight sword with a very clean 36.5 inch blade. Maker marked and proofed on the ricasso. Heavy basket shaped steel guard with cleaned corrosion pitting. Black leather wrapped wooden grip. Dent-free steel scabbard with a dark steel patina, two carrying rings. Perhaps this weapon saw service at the battle of Koniggratz in 1866. Nice old sword.
