Original period manufacture. A very clean example of the first pattern Werndl bayonet with a 460 mm blade, arsenal shortened in the 1870's. Very bright finish to the blade with some light darkening at the tip. Black checkered grips secured by three steel rivets, bright steel guard and pommel. Dark finished steel scabbard with a light dusting of surface corrosion, no pitting or dents. Decent brown leather frog.
