Original era manufacture. Polished steel blade measures 31.5 inches in length, running straight and true, with some shallow nicks along the cutting edge. The steel is bright and clean. Stamped into the reverse ricasso is the E. Pack & Sohne logo but with the letters P&D Co. below.Simple plated steel guard, backstrap and pommel, with a fishskin covered grip bound with triple strand wire. Light surface staining to the guard but no deep pitting.Black painted steel scabbard which may have an old repainted surface. Very light scattered surface denting; the sword is a bit of a tight fit so it may be a married pair, however the blade fits the scabbard properly.
