Original era manufacture. Stamped brass with a gilded finish, and split brad attaching pins on its reverse. Measures 75x85 mm with a darkened patina finish. When we purchased this old helmet plate, it was green as a gourd, years of storage in a damp place produced an ogre-like surface which was actually crusty.An overnight soak in Hoppes Gun Cleaning solution worked wonders. While not perfect, the crisp details are once again visible, as are portions of the original gilding.
