Original period manufacture. Jantzen identifies this as a carbine bayonet with the front sight located on the top of the muzzle ring. Near 10 inch polished steel blade with a makers mark on the ricasso FG-GY. Simple wooden grips secured with two steel rivets. Dark steel patina finished scabbard with a brown pigskin frog. Normal age and wear overall.
