Item #69053 : Original period manufacture. A very interesting bayonet we purchased out of an old collection about 20 years ago, sold locally to another collector about 15 years ago, and repurchased from that gentlemen last November. Standard model Austrian M1895 pattern NCO bayonet which once had the loop on the pommel for a knot. Feldgrau painted steel scabbard with the Austrian Imperial eagle stamped onto the frog stud, and again on the obverse ricasso, and on the reverse the letters CE over WG. Of course what is special about the bayonet is the aluminum Edelweiss flower nailed to the obverse grip plate. The frog is of interest too, as the main portion is made from a brown rubberized fabric, dated on the reverse 1938 and made by A.FISCHER of Berlin. The front part of the frog with the stud opening is of brown leather. Great bayonet.
