Original era manufacture. Chrome finished, polished steel blade with double etching measuring 29.5 inches in length. The blade runs fairly straight and true, with just a hint of a bend to the right. Nicely etched blade with frosted panels, obverse states in German, "Loyal Unto Death" and on the reverse, the date "18 August 1912".Chrome finished steel guard and back strap displaying a mix of finish and patina, fishskin wrapped grip bound with triple strand wire.The steel scabbard also is finished in chrome, now with brown patina, with scattered areas of plate lifting and a dent on one side.
