Item #50981 : Original period manufacture. Antique. A sound example of a 11.35 mm Bavarian Army issue single shot pistol which was developed and began to be issued just prior to the Franco-German War 1870-71. Two sets of unit markings can be seen on the frame, the first, 439 1 C R 2, which was crossed out when reissued to B 1 s R 2 15, there is an 1872 manufacture date on the top of the backstrap. The drop-block action works as it should. To cock the pistol you pull back on the top lever which raises the block. To fire you pull the trigger in the normal fashion, to release the block to reload, you push foward on the second trigger which drops the block into the load position. The finish is primarily toned, original blue with wear on the high points blended with pleasing steel patina, showing zero pitting. The screwheads have not been damaged, and the pommel ring is present. Original finish on the wooden grips which display original period markings. US SALES ONLY. Please be sure your state and municipality permits you to own an antique weapon such as this one. No FFL required. **A question was recently asked if the trigger number matches the other numbers on the pistol. The answer is no, it is a four digit number, 3582, which was an assembly number for the components of the lock mechanism, and not the serial number of the weapon which is 150.
