Item #69831 : Original period manufacture. Standard S98/05 service bayonet, maker marked Weyersberg Kirschbaum. Produced during WWI, reissued in the Weimar era to German Police units. All of the imperial era markings were removed, including the crown proof and date on the spine. The imperial property marks were also removed and replaced in this instance with a S over 25 proof. Stamped into the guard are the Police property letters and numbers, S.P.L.700. The blade is very clean, in fact, the entire bayonet was likely "freshened up" during the Weimar era. Gray patina finish to the scabbard body, no corrosion issues, circular dent just below the frog stud.
