Original era manufacture. Steel and brass construction with an 1861 date on the rear of the helmet body.This particular helmet was part of the enormous militaria auction held in Las Vegas this past summer, truly an amazing event.The helmet is without a liner, and for some reason the brass edge trim has been removed, the marmoset is a liitle loose, but overall the helmet displays well, and is bright and clean. Good restoration project. The Belgians discontinued their cuirassier regiments in 1863.
