Original period manufacture. A double-action, 11 mm six shot revolver of Belgian manufacture with an English retailers address on the top of the barrel. The pistol is quite sound with a very tight feel to it, the cylinder locks up properly when cocked and the trigger action is very strong. Stamped into the blue steel cylinder is the following; Systeme Le Faucheux Perfectione (Depose). On the top of the ocatgon barrel engraved in a cursive script is Tho's Boston Muir St Newcastle on Tyne. On the right side of the barrel is stamped CAST STEEL SCREWED BARREL, with a serial number of 8709 in two places. On the left side of the frame a former owner has engraved in Gothic script the letters CSA. The surface is smooth, but dark in color with lots of freckling to the finish. The cylinder has a nice amount of blue remaining. Sound wooden two piece grips with a nicely checkered surface. The bottom of the butt once held a lanyard ring. Overall a very sound old pistol of the Civil War era with a spurious CSA marking. US Sales Only
