Original era manufacture. An Imperial German era quality manufacture bayonet, made for export. Polished steel blade, with an upswept quillon and steel pommel, sound, original finish wooden grips. Serial number 8096 (or 9608) stamped into the top of the guard. The blade surface is very clean, with cross-grain polish visible no staining or surface corrosion. Light surface spotting on the guard and pommel. Very nice black leather bodied scabbard, with a brass throat and chape, Overall I would say this bayonet likely saw little service use, storage and handling wear only
