Original period manufacture. A well made souvenir medal with original ribbon. Bronze color, elongated oval medal measuring 38 x 58 mm, honoring the memory of Lieutenant John Chard, 5th Company Royal Engineers, for his part in defending Rorkes Drift during the Zulu War of 1879.
