Original era manufacture. Medal awarded by the Khedive to the British Troops who served in Egypt in 1882 while putting down the rebellion led by Pasha Arabi. This example has been privately named on it's reverse, a common practice of the time, to J.Drury 7711.Research shows one Private John Drury who served with the 2nd Battalion Grenadier Guards. He also received the Egypt Campaign Medal with clasp for Tel El-Kebir which is not included. Copies of the medal rolls listing JohnDrury's entitlement to those awards are included. The medal displays traces of its original darkened finish and comes with a short length of original ribbon.
