Original era manufacture. Dated reverse silver Egypt 1882 campaign medal with the clasp Alexandria 11th July. Named on the edge to G.H.Stewart. SK: CARP'S. Mte. H.MS. INVINCIBLE.The disc displays a pleasing silver patina, withnear zero pitting to the surface, usually found with Egypt medals, caused by the arms of the Bronze Khedive Star, banging againstthem for many years. The medal is complete with its original ribbon.Admiral Seymour's flagship during the bombardment of Alexandria Egypt, 11 July 1882, during the British campaign to quell the Urabi rebellion. This campaign culminated int the battle of Tel El-Kebir on 13 September 1882, and the resulting surrender of Urabi and the city of Cairo.With copied documents and research file.
