Original era manufacture. This is a nice clean set portraying a Captain in the Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derby) Regiment right after WWI, at least we think so, 1920's would be our guess. Matching material tunic and visor hat with darkened metal emblems and gilded brass regimental buttons. The four pocket tunic has an open collar with leather reinforced cuff ends. The lining is intact but shows wear from use with some scattered fraying. No nametag or tailor's label. Heavy quality ribbed corduroy material breeches in a pale gray color. Someone has opened the leg seams up a bit just below the knee so to fit a display manniquin. Pinnedabove the upper left pocket is a four place ribbon bar, DCM, Star, BWM and Victory Medal, likely added at a later date, but it dresses things up a bit. The hat is quite sound with four ventilator grommets at the rear of the body, wide brown leather sweatband and cream color cloth lining with a small piece removed, perhaps the owners name. Mothing is at a minimum, just light normal wear, no stains or tears. We added the original brown leather officers belt and sword hanger to complete the set. Tunic size is about a 38 regular.
