Original era manufacture. Major-General Sir Herbert Stewart 1843-1845, a distinguished officer who saw service in the Zulu Campaign of 1879 and the Egyptian Campaign of 1882.In 1884 he was given command of the desert column in an attempt to rescue Charles Gordon besieged at Khartoum. After his Camel Corps defeated the Mahdists at Abu Klea in January 1885, he was was mortally wounded by a bullet to the groin a few days later. He lingered for a month, and is buried at Jakdul Wells.A 5x7 image in a fairly modern wooden frame.
