Original era manufacture. A brass bodied, rope tensioned drum, bearing the regimental insignia of the 4th-7th Royal Dragoon Guards and the royal cypher of King George VI, who reigned as monarch from 1936-1952.This is a grand looking old drum with original hide heads, white buff leather tugs and original heavy cording. Hand painted wooden hoops with most of the paint remaining intact. The brass body has a large transfer-type insignia on the front which has been lacquered over, with four GR VI cyphers present. The drum exhibits normal age and wear but no real damage, some minor denting to the brass body, but overall it presents a very pleasing vintage patina.
