Original era manufacture. Medal with original ribbon, two clasps South Africa 1901, South Africa 1902, named on the edge to 6609 PTE .B. MCCABE RL: HIGHRS:. According to the medal rolls, his Queen's South Africa medal would have had three clasps, Cape Colony, Orange Free State and Transvaal. Comes with a small file showing the medal rolls and information on the action which ended with his unit's capture by the Boers.
