Original era issue. QSA medal with two clasps, Transvaal and Defence of Mafeking, named on the edge to 132 Pte C.T. Harrison Bec'land Rifs. The Bechuanaland Rifle Volunteers served with distinction during the siege earning praise from Sir Baden Powell himself. Of the approximate 1150 medals issued with the Defence of Mafeking clasp, 125 were presented to the Bechuanaland Rifles. The accompanying paperwork lists Private Harrison as receiving the clasp for Mafeking, the rarest of all the Boer War clasps. Description
