Original era publication. 6 real photo postcards of CSM A. Burns MC, 6286 1st Bn Royal Highlanders, in various stages of his adult life.Excellent photographic content, most with notations on the reverse. CSM Burns was awarded the Military Cross for conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty, when in charge of ammunition, in keeping up supply under heavy fire. London Gazette 27 July, 1916. Born 1874, enlisted in the Black Watch in 1896, promoted Corporal in 1904, Lance Sergeant in 1904, Sergeant 1906, Color Sergeant 1912 and Company Sergeant Major 1913. He landed in France with the First Battalion on 14 August 1914. He died in 1937.
