A two volume set of books published by Spink & Son over 120 years ago.Volume I is titled The War Medal Record, (Including Orders of Knighthood) A Complete Index to Tancred's Historical Record of Medals. 254 pages of text, illustrations and some plates, a few in color.Volume II is titled The War Medal Record, Including Orders of Knighthood & Honorary Distinctions. 226 pages of text, illustrations and some photographic plates.Each volume was published and edited by Spink & Son of London.Overall, the books are sound, each displaying evidence of an old rebinding, but the original covers with leather trim remain intact. A great set of books illustrating the allure of medal (and militaria in general) collecting through the ages.
