Original era manufacture. Sepia image of Sergeant Benjamin Brooks, 81st Regiment, wearing his NCO sash, and India Mutiny Medal on his chest.Gosport photographers logo on the reverse. Sgt Brooks did indeed serve in the 81st Regiment, joining the army in 1854, and retiring out after 21 years of service in 1875.He served in India during the Mutiny and was awarded the campaign medal, and two Good Conduct badges. He was never court martialed, and his name never appeared in the regimental defaulters book. Normal age and wear.
