Original period manufacture. Full size silver medal presented totroops participating in the actions to reconquer the Dongola Province in the Sudan.These medals were presented unnamed, however many are encountered today with privately engraved or stamped edges bearing the names of the individual awarded them.This medal is named to 3960 Pte Collins 1.CAM HIGHas. Checking on Ancestry.comwe find that in addition to the Khedive medal with the clasp for Khartoum, Collins also was awarded the QSA & KSA for service during the Boer War, with clasps for Johannesburg, Diamond Hill, Wittebergenand Cape Colony for the QSA,and South Africa 1901 and South Africa 1902 on his KSA. Glue residue on the reverse of the medal from being mounted in a display.
