Original era manufacture. Bright finished blade which measures justover 20 inches in length, 7 inch long saw section on the spine.Broad Arrow proofs on the obverse ricasso and on the reverse a date, 9/81. The blade is clean but thefinish is mottled from age with old cleaned corrosion and light pitting near the tip. Matching condition patina to the guard and pommel with an issue number 1139 on the guard. Pressed leather grips secured with four rivets. Somehow the press button for the locking bar has gone missing. Complete steel and leather scabbard with similar steel patina to the remainder of the bayonet. The leather is dry and cracked with some of the stiching in the seam opening up, it is not broken or repaired. Scarce bayonet.
