Original era manufacture. Very curved, 32 inch steel blade which measures about 38mm at its widest near the point and 35mm at the ricasso. Traces of the blue & gilding finish remain, with the original etched design on each side of the blade, including George III monogram and an interesting design of a mounted cavalryman on the obverse, and the British coat of arms on the reverse. No real issues in the cutting edge but spotting and cleaned corrosion with light pitting can be seen, more so towards the point. Simple steel stirrup guard with langets, leather covered grip with twisted wire binding. The sword has a simple sheet metal scabbard with two suspension points, both of which are missing their carrying rings. The blade slides in easily and looks to be the proper length but the grip langets get hung-up sometimes as the scabbard throat is missing.
