Original era manufacture. Brass mounted pipe-backed blade which measures 31 inches in length. The blade has been cleaned and polished with only traces of the original etching remaining. Gilded brass guard with William IV monogram, leather wrapped grip with triple wire binding, with the end of one of the wires having come loose. Brass scabbard with two carrying rings, showing denting along its surface. William IV of England was born in 1765 and died in 1837. He came to the throne late in life and ruled from 1830 until his death.
