Original era manufacture. Polished stee blade, measuring 31.5 inches in length, with etched panels on each side. Possibly dating to the Edwardian era as a Queen's crown is visible on the reverse side of the blade, and a King's crown on the obverse. The blade is in overall clean condition, no nicks in the cutting edge, displaying scattered areas of staining and darkening but no deep corrosion issues. The retailer logo of the Royal Naval Outfitters appears on the reverse ricasso. Gilded patina finish brass guard, with the short side meant to fold down, however this has been broken off for some reason. Lion head pommel, with a white fish skin grip bound with triple strand wire binding. Original gold wire officers sword knot wrapped around the guard.Black leather bodied scabbard with sound stitching, no creases or breaks, matching finish condition gilded brass fittings throughout. On the reverse side of the scabbard throat is an ornate shield from the Royal Naval Outfitters.
