Original period manufacture. Plated steel blade measuring 32 inches in length, with the name Ravenscroft on the reverse ricasso, and a six pointed star and "proved" disc on the obverse. The blade runs straight and true, very clean, with nearly all of the original finish remaining. Original leather bumper at the base of the blade. Brass basket guard, non-folding on the small side, with Victoria cypher and Queen's crown. Black fishskin wrapped grip bound with a single strand brass wire. Plated finish to the steel scabbard with some scattered areas of light surface corrosion. The scabbard is free of dents, both throat screws are in place. Overall an original patina finish, we have not made any attempt at giving it a bath.
