Original period manufacture. Victorian era cdv image of a Black Watch officer, taken on Malta in what looks to be 22 March/ (18)76. Identified as G.M.Munro. Checking Ancestry, we find George Montgomery Munro 1853-1896, who served in the Black Watch for 16 years. Was awarded the Ashanti Campaign Medal with clasp, wounded, dying in Nova Scotia in 1896. Clear image with the medal visible on his chest.
