Original era manufacture. A well made bayonet featuring a 18.5 inch blade with fullers on each side, with a crown VR proof /87 on the reverse ricasso. The blade is clean, no corrosion issues, just some clouding and staining from age. The blade has not been sharpened and the point is true. Pressed leather grips with a checkered pattern to the surface. Steel patina guard and pommel with unit markings of N.E.P. 8158, muzzle opening measures 18mm. Sound original leather scabbbard with a steel throat and chape. Quite a solid example for it's age.
