Original era manufacture. A well made bayonet featuring a 18 inch blade without fullers, with a crown VR proof /89 on the reverse ricasso. The blade is clean, no corrosion issues, just some clouding and staining from age and a few shallow nicks to the spine. The blade has not been sharpened and the point is true. Pressed leather grips with a checkered pattern to the surface. Steel patina guard and pommel with Egyptian unit markings on the guard, muzzle opening measures 18mm. Sound original leather scabbbard with a steel throat and chape. Quite a solid example for it's age.
