Original era manufacture. Standard pattern 1821 Royal Artillery Officers sword but made by the German firm of WKC and so marked.Thirty-four inch polished steel blade with etched panels on each side, Queens crown, and Volunteers in a bandeau. Brass proved disc on the obverse ricasso, and on the reverse, the retailers name, J.Daniels & Co. Woolwich, which in turn is overstamped WKCwith the Kings head and helmet proof.The blade is clean, in decent polish, with scattered light staining and a shallow nick or two in the edge. No corrosion issues, with the blade running straight and true. Three branch guard, backstrap and pommel of steel, fish skin wrapped grip, with triple strand wire binding. All in good order.The leather covered, alloy scabbard body has a steel throat, and fits the blade properly. There are scattered scuffs and nicks in the leather surface, however the stitching is sound, and there are no tears.
